Write to support@qrcodefreeforever.com. It reaches Manuel Llovet, who builds and maintains this site, and it is read by a person.
Email is the only channel. There is no phone line and no support desk — this is a one-person project, and I would rather answer properly than quickly. Expect a reply within two working days.
What I can help with
- A code that will not scan. The most useful thing you can send is a photograph of the printed code, the size it was printed at, and the distance you are trying to read it from. Nine times out of ten the answer is in one of those three things.
- A bug in the generator. Tell me the browser, the type of code, and what you typed in. If a particular payload produces a broken code I want the exact string.
- A correction to a guide. These are the emails I answer fastest. If a measurement is wrong or a format has changed, say which page and what you are seeing — pages carry the date they were last checked and I will re-check.
- A guide that is missing. If you looked for something here and it was not covered, that is useful to know.
- Business enquiries. Advertising, licensing, or using the site's material somewhere else.
What I cannot help with
- Changing a code that is already printed. These are static codes: the destination is inside the image. Nothing on this end can alter a code that already exists on paper. What you can do is make the code point at a redirect you control next time — how that works.
- Recovering a code you lost. Nothing is stored on any server, so there is no record of what you made. Generate it again with the same content and you will get the same code.
- A code made somewhere else that has expired. If a code was made with a dynamic QR service, the destination lives in their database and only they can restore it. Why QR codes stop working explains how to tell whether that is what happened.
- Deciding what to put behind a code for you. Though the by-setting page covers most of the common cases.
Before you write
Two pages answer most of the questions that arrive by email. If a code has stopped working, why QR codes stop working lists the twelve usual causes and how to tell them apart. If a code is about to be printed, the pre-print checklist catches most problems in ten minutes.
Who you are writing to
