QR Codes for Google Reviews
Most people who would happily leave a review never do, because finding the right page takes six taps. A code on the counter takes one.
Get the right link first
You want the link that opens the review box directly, not your business profile. In your Google Business Profile there is a share option that produces a short review link for exactly this. Copy that.
Then test it on a phone before you make a single code from it. Open it, confirm the star box appears, and only then generate.
Make the code
- Paste the review link into the Link tab.
- Keep the design simple — high contrast, no gradient, plain background.
- 3 cm or larger for a counter card, since it is read from about 30 cm.
- Download the SVG for the printer, and a PNG if you also want it on a receipt or a screen.
Where it works
- A small stand beside the till or on the counter.
- The back of the receipt holder or the bill folder.
- A card handed over with the bill in a restaurant.
- Near the exit, at eye height, on the way out.
The wording matters more than the code
Scan to leave a review is fine. Enjoyed it? Tell us in 30 seconds is better, because it sets the expectation that this is quick. Ask at the moment someone has just said something nice, not at random.
Ask everyone, not only the customers you expect to be positive. Google's guidelines are clear that you must not filter or incentivise reviews, and a page of suspiciously perfect reviews convinces nobody anyway.
